The National Hockey League’s annual Hockey Fights Cancer (HFC) charity auction is underway. Founded in 1998 by the NHL and NHLPA (NHL Players’ Association), proceeds from HFC auction items support a wide variety of cancer treatment programs, research institutions, hospitals, as well as local team and player funded charities. More than $18 million has been raised since the program’s inception.
This year, hockey fans everywhere will have an opportunity to bid on a selection of Hockey Fights Cancer jerseys, shirts, and hats worn by the star-studded lineup of players that participated in a media tour taking place in New York City from September 6-7, 2017. The charity auction will run throughout the month of November exclusively on NHL Auctions, powered by Commerce Dynamics Auction Marketplace Solutions, where official HFC gear worn by likes of Connor McDavid, Patrick Kane, and Taylor Hall will be open for bidding.
Additionally, teams throughout the league will be auctioning Hockey Fights Cancer themed warm-up jerseys worn by the players prior games in October, November, and December.
